Psychologist Berkhamsted | Dr Annie Hinchliff

Annie worked in the NHS for 10 years as a psychologist providing specialist in-house mental health services for GP referrals at Harpenden Memorial Hospital and various GP surgeries throughout Hertfordshire.  During this time Annie started in private practice from her consulting room in Hertfordshire.

Annie’s psychological research areas have included decision-making, relationships, identity, life transitions, coping and adapting to life threatening conditions and genetically inherited illnesses.

She has special interests and expertise in coping with life’s dilemmas, decision-making and their impact on individuals, relationships and organisations.  Dilemmas and decisions may be present in an individual's personal or professional life.  They can create obstacles such as stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, uncertainty, communication problems, self-doubt and procrastination.

The choice of psychological therapy or in-depth psychological coaching will depend on individual circumstances and can be discussed in an initial telephone consultation.

Annie is recommended by the British Psychological Society as an expert psychologist for the media and has contributed to BBC Radio 4, and articles in national newspapers, magazines and other publications.
